The
Uganda Rainwater Association (URWA) is a national membership
non-governmental organisation with a main purpose of raising the profile of rainwater
management and utilization among all development sectors in Uganda.
The idea of forming a Rainwater Association in Uganda was conceived
in 1997 at the Arusha workshop. A committee was then formed in 1998
to pursue registration. In February 1999, registration was secured
and the Uganda Rainwater Association was formally established with
eight Executive committee members. URWA is a member of GHARP,
Southern and Eastern Africa Rainwater Network (SearNet) and Green
Water Harvesting Partnership (GWP). Contacts Plot 555, Makere Kikoni, Sir Apollo Kagwa Road P.O. Box 5315, Kampala, Uganda Tel.: +256 (0) 312 276766 or +256 (0) 772 513435 Email:
