KCCA in partnership with GIZ has constructed a 14
stance bio-latrine at KCC Kansanga Primary School. The facility, on top of
offering toilet functions, will also provide bio-gas. The biogas will be used
in the kitchen to prepare food for pupils. This is the second of its kind in
Kampala (The first being a pilot at Namirembe Primary School). On 13th April 2012, the Executive Director (KCCA) led the ground breaking ceremony for the facility. On Thursday 07th February 2013, the chairperson of GIZ Management board, Ms. Tanja Gönner together with the Head of the Africa Department (GIZ), Mr. Andreas Proksch will lead the commissioning ceremony of the above mentioned facility.
