EDF West Nile Project (Improved WASH Governance in West Nile through Local Dialogue)

Network for Water and Sanitation, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre and Community Empowerment for Rural Development ( CERFORD) partnered to implement a project to improve governance in the  Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector through local dialogues in Uganda's WEST Nile region.

This was a 2 year project from 2008 t0 2010 with support from the 9th EDF support to Decentralization program (SDP).

The main goal was to improve health and productivity in communities as well as attendance and education results in three districts of Adjumani, Moyo and Nebbi) arising from more accountable and responsive WASH service provision through local dialogue.

The project focused on four main elements:

• Capacity building,

• Action research
